Moving Household Goods from Crete to the USA & Canada

Moving Household Goods from Crete to the USA & Canada

The largest Cretan communities abroad are in North America, and household moves across the Atlantic have been this office's core work since the 1990s. This is what the process looks like.

It Starts with a Survey

We look at what's moving — by visit or video call — because ocean freight is priced by volume. From that you get a quote and a realistic time window. Sea freight to North America is measured in weeks, not days; anyone quoting exact days at this stage is guessing.

Groupage or Your Own Container

A partial household shares container space with other shipments and pays only for its volume. A full household fills its own 20- or 40-foot container. The survey decides which is cheaper for you — the crossover point is lower than most people expect.

Packing for the Ocean

Export packing is not house-moving packing: furniture is blanket-wrapped and cased, boxes are ocean-rated, and everything goes on an inventory that customs on the other side will actually read.

Customs and Delivery

Used household goods moving with their owner are normally admitted to the USA and Canada without duty, provided the owner's status and paperwork are in order — we confirm your case before anything is loaded. At destination, our partner agents clear the shipment and deliver to your door.

Common Questions

Can I include olive oil in my household shipment?

Often yes, declared properly. Food in an undeclared box is the classic way to get a whole shipment inspected.

Is insurance included?

Transport insurance is offered with every quote and you choose. For an ocean crossing we recommend it plainly.

When should I book?

As soon as you know your moving month. Container space and survey slots are easier to arrange with lead time, especially in summer.

Ready for a Price?

Tell us what you're shipping and where. You get a clear quote and a realistic time window — before anything is packed.
